1. Bolnore Village
In the late 1990's, planning permission was granted for 780 new homes on a greenfield site now known as Bolnore Village, located to the South West of Haywards Heath.
Plans for this development, led by the house builders Crest Nicholson in conjunction with several other companies, have since expanded to 1,600 new homes.
The decision to grant planning permission for Bolnore Village was somewhat controversial, since the site formed a Site of Nature Conservation Importance (SNCI).

Monmouthshire population: 85,000
New Homes in next 10 years: 5,000
In Chepstow, Monmouthshire, a site behind an existing residential development was purchased. This site was approximately 2,5 acres in size. The initial request for planning was refused on the basis of addition noise and pollution to the environment and inconvenience to the existing residents.
Upon appeal they gained the appropriate permission and have built and sold homes.
